Our plans are not always God's plans

For the past year and a half, since we moved to Birmingham, the plan has been to move to Newnan sometime this year. We even tried to buy a house before Nolan was born. Actually we had contracts on 2 houses in Newnan before he was born but they both fell through. So the big news for our family is that Shannon got a job. I am going back to work full-time. I have accepted a job as the Children's Minister at Homewood Church of Christ here in B'ham. Yes that means the Reagans are staying in Alabama. Andrew and I never thought we would end up in Alabama, possibly Auburn but never B'ham. I will be starting next week and I am very excited about this opportunity. The boys will still be close. Tyler will be starting at the Day School that is at the church next Tuesday. He will be going five mornings a week, unless he stays home to have a day with Dad when Andrew is off. Nolan is also enrolled for a few mornings a week, if I need it, but I will be able to keep him with me in the office most of the time till he gets a little older. I will also be able to work from home. It is going to be a lot of adjusting for our family over the next few weeks. I have been wanting to work as a children's minister since I finished my campus internship at UK and when this came up Andrew encouraged me to go for it "just to see were it goes." Well apparently God wants us to stay in B'ham. Pray for us as we look for a house and also that a corporate pilot job will become available for Andrew here in B'ham.

Julie goes to Africa!!

The boys and I just got back from Atlanta tonight. We went to spend some time with Julie before she leaves for Uganda. We are planning a trip to go see her at some point in 2009, we hope all four of us will be able to go. This was the last time we will see her until we go visit or she gets back next year. Here are some picutes from the last few days.

MOMMY!!!!!!

So I was so excited to report just two days ago that Ty had NOT had an all over the floor accident in a few weeks and potty training was going well. Yesterday I was siting in the living room and Ty was in the office with Andrew. All of a sudden there was lots of crying and Tyler yelling MOMMY! He comes running, more of a waddle run, out of the office with pee all down the front of his pants. Of well, accidents happen.

Julie must be crazy

For those of you who know Andrew's sister Julie she has recently set up a blog. She will be leaving for Uganda in August to work with a mission team there for a year.

It's been awhile....

Wow, it's been almost a month since my last post. Andrew and I celebrated our 5th wedding anniversary yesterday. Of course since I'm nursing Nolan we couldn't do anything too far away from home. We did go to dinner just the two of us.
Nolan is growing too fast and he is starting to put on some weight. He weighed two pounds less then Ty when he was born but when we took him in for his two month check-up he only wieghed 3 ounces less then Ty did at 2 months. Nolan loves his bath and being in the water. I had the great idea a few weeks ago of taking his Bumbo seat out and putting it in the pool with Ty. Nolan wasn't too happy about it because the water was cold. But I took a picture of him hanging out in his seat. Ty likes the Bumbo seat too but he likes to wear it as a hat.

POTTY TRAINING..........
So about a year ago I began letting Ty run around the backyard with no clothes on to try to start the potty training process. Well a year later we are STILL working on getting him potty trained. I will take some of the responsibility for it taking so long. I haven't been very consistent with it the past year. But we decided before Nolan was born we need to work on it and see if we could get Ty out of diapers during the day. Well we couldn't find anything that worked very well to motivate Ty. Then a friend from church said that she was using a sticker chart with her Tyler and it was working. Since our Ty loves stickers we decided to give it a try. IT'S WORKING!!!!! He has not had a pee all over the floor accident in about 3 weeks. He still has some small accidents and we are wearing Pull-ups out of the house but we are making progress. When he fills up his sticker chart he gets a new car. Here he is with the first chart he filled up and his new fire truck. Now we just have to get him to poop in the potty. He waits till he has a diaper on for nap or bed to do that.

Here is a recent picture of Nolan. I just can't believe how big he is getting.

This is a picture I took the other day on a flight from Birmingham to Atlanta. Ty is such a great big brother and he loves Nolan so much. Ty actually told us the other day that he wants another baby, a sister. Don't know yet if that will ever happen.
